About Me

Hello, I’m Laura!

A Community Textiles Artist, Community Producer, and Public Historian with a rich background in using textiles to foster connection, creativity, and community.

At the heart of my work is a deep belief that stitch has the power to tell stories, build connections, and create change. Drawing on my background in fashion, heritage, and community arts, I design and facilitate creative textile projects that invite reflection, spark conversation, and empower individuals to explore their own narratives, past and present.

My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in care, creativity, and collaboration. As a trained Mental Health First Aider, I prioritise creating safe, inclusive spaces where participants feel supported and inspired to engage meaningfully.

From large-scale community quilts to heritage-inspired embroidery projects, I specialise in working alongside individuals and groups to co-create textile works that celebrate identity, explore complex histories, and amplify voices that are often unheard.

Whether we’re commemorating stories through heirloom creation or stitching to explore difficult conversations, my aim is always the same: to honour the power of textiles to connect, heal, and transform.
