As a Midlands-based Community Arts Practitioner, Textile Artist and Public Historian, I work with museums, heritage organisations, charities, local authorities and community groups across the UK to create meaningful research-led participatory textile projects that place people’s stories at the heart of the creative process.
Whether you’re looking to engage a community, reinterpret a collection, explore local heritage or commission a large-scale collaborative artwork, I can work with you from the earliest conversations through to project delivery, exhibition and legacy.

Every community is full of stories waiting to be discovered. I develop and facilitate collaborative projects that invite people to explore identity, place, memory and belonging through textiles.
Whether beginning with a blank page or building on an existing idea, I work alongside communities to create projects that are inclusive, ambitious and genuinely community-led. Together we create artworks that celebrate lived experience, strengthen connections and leave a lasting legacy.
Museums & Heritage
Creative engagement programmes that connect people with collections, places and untold histories.
Museums and heritage sites hold extraordinary stories, but the most meaningful interpretations often emerge when communities are invited into the conversation.
I work with museums, archives, libraries and heritage organisations to develop creative programs that encourage people to engage with collections in thoughtful and unexpected ways. Projects might uncover overlooked histories, reinterpret collections through contemporary perspectives or invite communities to contribute their own experiences alongside historical narratives.
Drawing on my background in Public History, I combine research with creative participation to help people discover new perspectives and see themselves reflected in the stories we tell.
Creative Consultation & Co-production

The most successful projects begin by listening.
Through creative consultation and co-production, I help organisations gather stories, understand community priorities and develop projects that reflect the people they hope to engage. Using textiles and creative activities as conversation starters often allows stories and ideas to emerge that traditional consultation methods can miss.
The result is work that feels authentic, collaborative and deeply rooted in the communities it represents.
Participatory Textile Practice
Slow textile processes that encourage conversation, collaboration and participant leadership.
For me, textiles are far more than a creative medium, they’re a way of bringing people together.
Slow stitching creates space for conversation, reflection and shared decision-making. Participants become collaborators rather than attendees, helping shape both the creative journey and the finished artwork. The process values curiosity, connection and lived experience as much as the final textile itself.
Textile Storytelling Workshops
Bespoke workshops designed around your community, your stories and your aspirations.
Every workshop is designed specifically for the people, place and purpose of the project.
Rather than teaching embroidery techniques for their own sake, I use stitching as a creative language for storytelling, reflection and conversation. Workshops can be developed for museums, schools, libraries, festivals, heritage organisations and community groups, and are always tailored to the needs of the people taking part.
No previous textile experience is needed. The focus is on connection, creativity and discovering the stories we each carry.
Artist Residencies
Time to build relationships, undertake research and create meaningful collaborative work.
Some stories need time to unfold.
Artist residencies create the opportunity to build trust, undertake research and develop ambitious collaborative projects over weeks or months. Working closely with organisations and communities, I create textile works that respond authentically to place, history and lived experience, leaving both a lasting artwork and meaningful relationships behind.
Exhibitions & Public Installations

The end of a project is often the beginning of new conversations.
I work with organisations to develop exhibitions and public textile installations that celebrate community voices and encourage reflection, dialogue and connection. Whether exhibiting the outcomes of a collaborative project or creating a new participatory installation, my aim is always to ensure the finished work continues to tell stories long after it leaves the workshop.
At the Heart of My Practice
Everything I do begins with a simple belief: Textiles can hold stories. Cloth has the remarkable ability to carry memory, reveal hidden histories and create connections across generations and communities.
Through research, conversation and collaborative making, participants explore personal experiences, local histories and shared identities, creating textile artworks that become lasting records of people, place and belonging.
The process is just as important as the finished piece. By creating welcoming, reflective and inclusive spaces, projects encourage people to connect not only with the stories being explored, but also with one another.
